Abandoned
Have you noticed an abundance of abandoned retail spaces in these United States lately? In the last year, even more than ever before. I made one into a gallery for a weekend this past June. Outside the big cities it is even more noticeable because a shuttered auto dealership that sits empty indefinitely sticks out like a lonely, overgrown thumb. In Wallingford, Connecticut, this place sits empty on route 5, a road that exists in almost every town in America now, usually a mile farther away from the original center of town and lined with all the "big box" stores that killed the individual nature of small town America, or are trying their best. Every time I drive by it I see something else...
