Water and Gold/Agua y Oro

I am in Bogota, Columbia to see Baptiste and to check out his show with his sister Maia at La Residencia, an artists residency program here. They just started setting up today and it looks great. I wish I spoke Spanish a little better, but I have been eating my way through town and visiting a few museums.

New work: Sundance Channel/Full Frontal Fashion

I have been working on a project with the good folks over at Sundance Channel/Full Frontal Fashion, visiting designers studios and getting a look at what they do and where they work, documenting it with photos. The project goes live on their website today and I am super excited to be a part of it. Check it out here. This was especially fun for me, as it relates directly to my Working Life project. Funny how things work out like that.

Metal brother

my brother Sam is in a metal band in Connecticut called Raised by Falcons. Do you like metal? They play a lot in CT and sometimes Massachusetts and NJ, but I think they should raze New York City to the ground with their devastating shredding. Don't you? They have a song called "wheel of stomachs", I mean, what else is there to say.

Old Brooklyn

I noticed these gorgeous abandoned buildings in the Brooklyn Navy Yard yesterday. I had to catch my breath to hold back from trying to get in there. I believe they are officers quarters from the mid 1800s. The Navy stopped using the port in 1966 and it is now rented to different businesses.
